Volunteer Spotlight – Columbus Cares
The 2nd Annual Franklinton Food & Fitness 5K (benefitting Gladden Community House, Franklinton Cycle Works, and Franklinton Gardens) had plenty of helping hands thanks to the nonprofit service organization, Columbus Cares! Columbus Cares, dedicated to connecting the educational and business worlds through service, links their active and diverse volunteer members to high impact volunteer work and charitable acts. Organizations are able to reach out to Columbus Cares for help with obtaining volunteers for service projects and people all over Columbus have access to volunteer events through their efforts.
Columbus Cares made the coordination of volunteers for our 5K easy! We simply requested a volunteer group and then had a large number of energetic and helpful volunteers on the day of the event. Volunteers helped pass out water, time runners, mark off the course, and cheer on passing participants. They also stuck around to help with the Tour of Franklinton, a local bike race that also benefitted Gladden. Gladden is now proudly an official community partner of Columbus Cares and we look forward to having the continued support of this wonderful organization. Thank you Columbus Cares!
