Gladden Food Pantry says Thank You!
Gladden bids a fond farewell to Meghan O’Brien, an OSU student who recently completed a year of service with the Gladden Food Pantry. During her time as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, Meghan held nutrition education sessions and conducted healthy food “taste tests” featuring produce available at the pantry. After becoming aware of the need for personal care products among pantry clients, Meghan began soliciting donations for commonly requested items like soap, toothpaste, and shampoo. Several churches answered the call for help, including First Community Church and St. Margaret of Cortona. She also began holding classes in which she demonstrated how to make hygiene products and household cleaners using inexpensive, everyday ingredients. Meghan will be leaving Gladden to take a position as a Community Health Planner at Franklin County Public Health. Meghan did a phenomenal job during her time with the pantry. She will be missed and we wish her all the best!
In addition, we would like to say Thank You to First Community Church, St. Margaret of Cortona and COSI for their donations of personal hygiene products. We would like to also Thank; St. John’s Episcopal Church, First Congregational Church, Columbus Diaper Coalition, Astoria Place of Columbus, Honey Baked Ham, United Preparatory Academy, The Ohio Senate, Marzettis, West high School, Old Familiar Barber Shop, Capital Drywall Supply, Mount Carmel Medical Group, Avondale Church, Ohio Beta Club, Shakman & Associates, Columbus Clippers, and Eagle Scout Griffin, for all of your donations over the past year.
